At the end of the semester, the student associations of the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies – the associations for Sinology, Japanology, Islamic Studies, MAMES, and close East Asian Art History – organized a summer festival. In bright sunshine, around 70 students, professors, lecturers, and staff of the institute came together to bid farewell to the semester.
The festival took place in the picturesque courtyard of the institute, where numerous benches and tables were set up under the shade of trees. Delicious sausages and savory grilled cheese were sizzling on the grill. Additionally, many students brought homemade salads and desserts, adding to the buffet.
The relaxed atmosphere provided ample opportunity for engaging conversations and exchanges between students and faculty. The high turnout was particularly gratifying, reflecting the strong sense of community within the institute.
The summer festival was a great success and marked a wonderful conclusion to another academic year. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this wonderful event possible!
The entire AOI would like to celebrate the end of the semester with you. Students, professors, and lecturers will get together on Saturday 1 June 2024 to talk about the semester or to eat, drink, and toast at the end of the semester.
